HABERDASHER STREET

HACKNEY - Commercial

Drake’s is a men’s tailoring and haberdashery business with a focus on the finest quality, British materials and craftsmanship. The brief for their factory shop was to create a store that represented both the detailed craftsmanship of their haberdashery ware and the process of manufacturing taking place within the building.

Intent on representing the utilitarian nature of the factory store in contrast to their high street offer, our designs utilised a material palette of blackened steel, concrete and oak, robust materials, each with a depth of quality of their own.

Bespoke joinery share the level of detail found in the Drake’s tailoring. Crittall windows, a suspended lighting track, exposed services and a white painted ceiling void ensure a look that is true to the host building.

Following the success of its Haberdasher store project, Drake’s commissioned JDA to design a series of furniture items for its Flagship Saville Row store and Pitti UOMO trade stand. Utilising the same design language, we adopted a mature material palette of walnut and sycamore, brass and deep red leather.
